How social media helped Cadbury successfully relaunch the Wispa

Cadbury knew there was buzz about the Wispa when they decided to relaunch the iconic chocolate bar in 2008. But what were people buzzing about and who was driving the conversation? We used social media monitoring to keep tabs on online conversation about the Wispa relaunch, plus influence analysis to find who the key speakers were in conversation about the Wispa. Our intelligence allowed Cadbury to successfully interact with the right people on the right topics. Not only did their campaign drive 24 million Wispa sales in the first six weeks of the relaunch, it also earned Cadbury an IPA Effectiveness Gold Award in 2010.

Avis “tries harder” in social media, boosts ROI by 10%

In 2005, rental car company Avis UK knew that social media was a big deal, but how to use it to better serve its customers and reinvigorate its “We Try Harder” promise?  We helped Avis understand online conversation for both leisure and business drivers, two markets with two distinct issues. By identifying these issues, we helped Avis engage with their customers around key topics that interest them, an engagement strategy which helped Avis increase its approval rating by 200% and grow by more than 10% in 2007.
