We have just moderated a huge comment queue from the last couple of months. No excuses. Many apologies for our tardiness, John Cass et al. 3,500+ spam comments to be deleted …

    thanks Mark, comment spam really is a problem captcha and other solutions do appear to get rid of the problem. It would be interesting to compile a list of the ways that blogs try to get rid of comment spam. By the way did you answer my previous comments?
