About us
Welcome to Market Sentinel. We’ve spent over seven years developing our unique approach to online conversation monitoring and analytics.
It all started in 2002, when Ian Davis developed MyRSS, an application which enabled users to create a MyRSS feed from any web page. This product evolved into an online monitoring platform, and in 2004, Ian joined with Mark Rogers to found Market Sentinel. Simon Rogers joined later in 2005.
Since then, we’ve brought in a diverse mix of analysts, mathematicians and linguistics experts to help us build better tools to measure the social web. We’ve learned that listening to web conversations isn’t enough to make sense of them, so we developed the Net Approval Index as a way to quantify consumer sentiment. We later developed a metric for measuring influence, authority and connectedness in online discussions, based on citation analysis.
Today, we have analysts in the US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Australia, Dubai, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Turkey, Argentina, and Australia. We have partnerships with the University of Wolverhampton, the University of Ghent and the University of Alicante. We also work with Oxford University’s Department of Mathematics. Together, we work with major brands from around the world to help them make sense of the web.
We are a growing company and always hiring. If you have skills in computational linguistics, social network analysis and languages, please get in touch.
